Traditional joinery of design furniture

  Jan Ficek Dřevovýroba, established 1946

A beautiful, bright apartment with a view to Vyšehrad castle, which has undergone a total renovation. Its design was made by the architectural studio Artikul (J.Vlček, S.Krčilová). We made all the custom-made furniture and other atypical details.

The wall from fibreboards leads through the whole apartment. It is interesting not only because of its unusual grey-lila color, but also because of its structure. In this wall there is built in storage space, a window into a light well and door into the utility room and the bedroom. The wall is rounded on the corner, which corresponds to the rounding of the opposite wall. The kitchen follows the wall, its made with white painted surfaces. Its design is minimalistic. Interesting detail is the aligned front edge of the kitchen worktop or shelf just above the hood.

In the bedroom there is a built-in wardrobe, which is also made from the colored medium density fibreboards. Under the windows there is white painted storage chest of drawers.

For the bathroom, we made a cabinet under the sink and the shelf under the mirror. They are in the oak veneer decor. Special efforts were devoted to all details, such as milled vents in furniture, openings without handles, jawless doors, etc.
